Happy Birthday Gabe!!

Today is my oldest nephew Gabe's birthday. He is 5!!! i can't even believe he is that old already, time is just flying. i remember he was born when Scott and I had just started dating seriously. crazy how time flies! We had a family dinner/party for him tonight and my sister-in-law, Cat, asked me to make a birthday cake for him. it was a lot of fun to make and his reaction was well worth it. He told me thanks for making it the second he saw the cake then saw me. he is such a cute and kind kid! He opened gifts after dinner and it was hillarious. i guess we aren't very creative in my family because ben, hayden and i all got the same gift. he opened one and just said "wait a second," he had opened the exact same thing right before that. so it wasn't the most fun opening gifts, since they were all the same. but now he can pick out exactly what he wants :)

Congrats Rob and Rachael!!

My high school friend Rachael got married to her sweat heart Rob tonight. they dated for 9...yes 9 years! They had a beautiful ceremony and reception and was glad to be a part of that. Rachael asked me to make their wedding cake. So naturally i have to post pictures! i definately enjoyed the colors better than the last one :)

so i realized that i didn't even post a final picture of my cake on here. i have wanted to show a few people how it turned out but i didn't have it here. so this is more for me.

Happy Early Birthday!

My niece McKinsey is having a birthday in june, but my parents went out to visit this week. she requested a kitty birthday cake. so i couldn't resist. my brother Jeff said she saw the hello kitty and that is why she was asking for a kitty cake. my sister-in-law cheyenne was kind enough to cut out a hello kitty head that i could use as a guide. i think it turned out pretty cute. so HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY MCKINSEY!!!!

Pizza cake

ok, so i did my first cake for a paying customer! Scott sold this cake pretty much at our reception. They are friends of his dad and got talking to them about how we made our cake and they were interested. They only gave me 1 week notice, so it was a little crazy. Her colors were burnt orange, sage green and brown. However when she showed me her bouquet for colors, they were lime green and bright orange. so i asked and she told me burnt orange and sage green. so i did the colors she asked. i call it the pizza cake because i cut out the orange circles first and placed them on the cake. i put on a big circle and it looked like a piece of peporoni so i was a little nervous about the colors but it's what she told me. we delivered the cake friday night. we were waiting for the bride to come before leaving but the flowers came first. and again, lime green and bright orange. they wanted to put some on the cake...but it didn't look so good. i just had to laugh. the bride and her mom loved the cake. her mom said "she's going to love it. it totally fits her style" and the brides little brother said "what's that? funky?" it was funny. But all in all it went quite well!!!

just a few favorites from our reception. one of our favorite things was the photobooth! we love looking back through our sign in book at everyone's pictures. greg, jalaine and lexi are looking good before going in. family pictures of both sides. scott's dad surprised us with an ice sculpture. it was awesome! we didn't know what it was going to look like until they brought it. thanks to sandy and elvin and Ed for getting it for us! i loved it!! i was sad though because it melted after only a few days. when it melted i wanted to save the rose but it came out white and not looking too good instead of pink. oh well, good thing i have pictures!

more wedding

I have only a few pictures of family from the temple...my dad's camera decided to have a melt down that day and the other family pictures are too small to really see. but these are some of my favorites! my cute niece, McKinsey, wanted to wear her "wedding dress" (which i gave as a birthday gift for her 3rd birthday. she wanted a wedding cake for her b-day cake and wanted it all wedding). it was really cute. i especially loved that she didn't smile until she was holding the flowers :) my sister Brittany is getting married herself in july so it will be fun to reverse roles.
