Rubber Duckie!

This is the latest cake. We made this for Jeffrey's nephew who passed away. He loved Rubber Ducks. I was really excited to make this, because it's so cute. And i think it's special they celebrate his birthday. That would be so hard to loose a child, so my heart went into this cake.

The slats for the barrel are cookies, the rubber ducks are made of chocolate, the bubbles and flowers are made of royal icing. the only thing non edible is the ribbon around the barrel.

The sign is made of gum paste. The cake is devil's food decorated with cream cheese frosting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUBBIE!!!

Scott loves the cartoon Phineus and Ferb. so i thought that would make a great birthday cake!

I made the characters out of gumpaste (a sugar substance that hardens quite hard to hold the form). I think Ferb is my favorite. my nephews liked Perry.

These are the two main characters. Each show they do a crazy outrageous adventures.

This is Ferb. He doesn't say much but when he does it's funny.

This is Phineus. He is the dreamer of the two. He always comes up with the idea... "Ferb, i know what we're going to do today!"

This is Perry their pet platapus. i have no idea how to spell that. he is posing as an undercover pet. he is really a spy....yup.

Here is the final cake. Scott saw the cake and said "it's only missing one thing, a tree." he was right. So we added a tree, perfect! I think it turned out pretty good. Scott seemed to love it which is all that matters!

I just want to tell Scott that i love him so much and i'm love having him as my husband! it has been a great year and i look forward to many more! Happy Birthday Babe!

Ben's birthday cake

My oldest brother Ben is celebrating his birthday Tuesday. Since we have a few b-days close we had a family party/dinner tonight. I made the cakes for both Ben and Scott. Ben loves to golf, so naturally i had to make a golf ball!

By far my favorite thing about this cake was eating it!!! Gabe and Sam (my nephew's) loved to eat the grass. sam just kept saying "i like to eat grass" it was so cute! I used straws for support of scott's cake and they had fun with those also. when we pulled them out there was a little cake in the bottom so they sucked it out....and that is how they ate the rest of their cake, through the straw. at one point Gabe stuck his straw into the cake and started sucking cake through the straw, it was classic! anyway, happy birthday bro!

Another snow man cake

We were asked by a friend in our ward to make a snow man cake for a birthday party she was in charge of. honestly, i haven't had such a stressfull decorating experience yet. i didn't get off work until 6pm and the cake was due by 7! thanks to scott we were able to get it all decorated in time and delivered. i think it turned out great for how fast we did it!

Kasia's baptism

We snorta had a great weekend in colorado!! We were invited out to our niece's baptism on feb 6th. We drove out with my parents. the drive was scary, it was of course snowing in the mountain areas, but scott did a great job driving safely through. While we were out there we got to see Kasia's last basketball game. she is such a kind girl! she didn't like to foul, steal the ball, get in the way when someone was trying to pass, just all around nice. it was fun to watch! after that we went to the church to help set up. lori had a helium tank and scott and i were filling up balloons. we had a little left over, so of course scott had fun with it. kasia gave him the strangest look when he sucked some in and talked with this cute little high voice. we tried to get her to do it but she didn't want to. she would suck some down but then wouldn't talk. it was funny! the baptism was a noon and she looked so beautiful in her white dress! she sang the hymn "I'll seek the Lord early" with her friend Claire that was also baptised that day. it was beautiful!
